While this look itself wasn’t my favorite, I had to take a moment to appreciate the presence of Virgil’s work at this Met Gala. He was the embodiment of the self-expression and vision encompassed by the theme.

It only makes sense that the man who practically shares a name with this years theme would dress himself. Important to this look was the inclusion of the “Sanofka” symbol which comes from the Twi language of Ghana and means “to retrieve.”

The elements of this look are great, but the shape is all wrong. I love the idea of torn suit fabric with fringe and crisp white cuffs - these details made into a structured oversized suit with an oversized maroon tie featuring her broach may have made my best dressed list.
